“Message from the Mountain”, a dramatic widescreen video presentation of sights, sounds and special effects, describes the sequence, processes, and impact of the 1980 eruption. A breathtaking view of the crater is revealed when the screen goes up.

An animated fiber-optic model graphically demonstrates each aspect of the eruption phenomenon.

Working seismographs, live video feeds, and interactive displays allow the visitor to monitor the mountain along with the USGS.
